December Books - 2014 Real Book Challenge Roundup

I took it easy in December in terms of real books. I'd spent so many weeks trying to get through an endless cascade of library loans that I was ready to finish off the ones I had and start some of the books I'd bought. Instead, the Christmas season put me in the mood for a little holiday cheer and I indulged in holiday stories. Gosh was it a nice departure for me. I really enjoyed the lightness and quickness of the stories I read.

I read 31 books in December, 3 of which were real books. That brings me to a grand total of 110 books for my 2014 Real Book Challenge. Not too shabby, right?

Looking back at 2014, I've realized my reading goals were a little high for my schedule. My Real Book Challenge goal of 100 wasn't bad, but my GoodReads goal of 175 made me feel like I had to be reading all the time so I didn't fall behind. Not gonna lie. It took a bit of the fun out of it and I'm going to be a little more realistic with my goals this year.

As for the Real Book Challenge? I had so much fun with it. I love books in all forms but there's something about turning pages that is so satisfying!

FicFare and Swoony Boys Podcast are doing the Real Book Challenge again in 2015. I've set a conservative goal at 50 books which I'm likey to up later on. I want to be challenged, but I don't want to feel like it's something I can't accomplish. November Books - 2014 Real Book Challenge

Yikes, 16 days into December and I haven't logged my November books yet. It's not that I've forgotten; there's just been no time. 'Tis the season and all that crap. I'm kidding. It's not crap. I love Christmastime. Hubs and I hosted our company's Christmas party this past weekend so now that it's behind me, I wanted to take a second to complete this post. I read 13 books in November, 7 of which were real books, bringing my total for 2014 to 107.

October Books - 2014 Real Book Challenge

Six days into November. I guess it's long past time to make this post LOL and update my 2014 Real Book Challenge.In October I started a second job, so my reading time was less than I would have liked it to be, and accordingly I am a bit of sad panda.  But I have happy news to report. I read 11 books in October, 9 of which were real books. That, folks, brings my total to an even 100. Goal met!!! Yay!

September Books - Real Book Challenge 2014

October 2nd, which means another update to my 2014 Real Book Challenge. September was a busy month in a lot of ways. Most excitingly, I ran my first 5K. It also means I had less time to read. I managed to read 8 real books this past month out of a total of 11 books. That brings my total to 91. Next month I should hit my goal. YAY!

August Books - Real Book Challenge 2014

I have September brain, the mindset where you're asking what happened to August and summer and you're stuck in that moment of disbelief that the colder weather is right around the corner. I wouldn't have even remembered I had to do this post if not for my friend's blog. Thanks Stace! Anyway, I read 17 books in August, 14 of which were real books. I'm more excited that I'm so close to completing my challenge than I am about being a "Real Book Queen." If I push it, I might hit my total this month!

July Books - Real Book Challenge 2014

Remote blog post! YAY vacation! And yay me for reading as many books as I did this month. Thank you public library who seemingly releases newly ordered books in bunches thus overwhelming your faithful readers! :p Short holds certainly pushed me to read this month. I finished 16 books, and all of them were real books, thus continuing my reign (haha, get it?) as "Real Book Queen."
